A new low-cost, community-oriented development kit for the Xilinx’s Zynq-7000 Extensible Processing Platform (EPP) has been announced by Avnet and Digilent. The ZedBoard kit includes everything necessary to create designs based on Linux, Android, Windows, or another OS/RTOS and targets designers and students interested in exploring and prototyping application ideas for the new EPP architecture. ZedBoard is based on a Xilinx Zynq-7000 XC7Z020 EPP device and features:
- 512 MB DDR3 RAM;
- 256 MB QSPI flash;
- 4 GB SD card;
- on-board USB JTAG programming;
- 10M/100M/1G Ethernet;
- USB OTG 2.0/ USB UART;
- PS and PL I/O expansion (FMC, Pmod, XADC);
- multiple display output capability (1080p HDMI, 8-bit VGA, 128×32 OLED);
- I²S audio codec.
