Greeting,

In order to get photo current, is it need to apply reverse bias to the photodiode. Or it can use only the internal potential barrier to swept the EHPs

thank

A photo diode can be used to leak a tiny current when it is reverse-biased and light shines on it or it can be used as a solar cell when it generates a tiny voltage and current.

When it is reverse-biased it switches faster because the reverse voltage reduces its capacitance.

What are EHPs?

A simple transimpedance amplifier can be made using an op-amp and a resistor.

So, it can produce current with out any bias voltage, right?

Yes.
But since its area is very small then its generated current is also very small.
