hi ! I've a project from my college that is called analog ammeter design.I couldn't find something about it.Is there anyone know something about this project.I'm waiting for your helps...

I need analog ammeter's circuit diagram and which materials are used in this circuit.I've been looking for that circuit novadays but I couldn't find. Please help me ..

You need to tell us more about your project. Do you need to build an analogue current meter yourself? Buy one?

Yes I'll built an analogue current meter and for that I need a circuit diagram and materials that are used in this circuit.

Ok. Very surprised they asked you to build an analogue current meter at college.
Is it for DC or AC? A simple current meter could have a coil of wire and a needle attached on a magnet.

thanks for your links.I'll build analog ammeter circuit for DC current. do you have any idea that i could make that circuit with simple electrical components (for example : resistors.. etc) ?

This is more of a mechanical project than electrical.

Care to mention the current range?

You might need a shunt resistor in parallel with the coil but that's about it.

The ammeter does not really require any resistors to work. It can be just a piece of wire.
You might need resistors to increase its range.

Another thing you can do is buy a ready analogue volt meter and connect it across a resistor of 1 Ohm.
Then the display will be in Amperes. See diagram attached and link.

Moving coil or moving iron meters can only measure current really.

It's not cheap though, you could buy a decent DVM for less than that.

A 1Ω resistor would also dissipate 100W at the full range of 10A.

You're better off using a 50ľA or 100ľA meter with an appropriate value shunt resistor wired in parallel.

It's probably not very accurate so will need calibrating.
