Dear all,

Spam is getting more and more annoying on some threads, especially High Voltage and bots are getting smarter.

I suggest that moderators/administrators discuss this issue and that a way to limit spam is found.

I have noticed that all spam posts have members with only 1 total posts, so maybe the solution can be based on that.

I am happy to provide any ideas or feedback.

Regards,
Alex

I delete all the spam I see but there's only so much I can do.

Most of the bots you see actually have loads of posts but they've all been deleted by me.

Unfortunately I don't have the power to ban bots, only the administrator can do that. The trouble is the administrator is busy so a typical bot makes about 5 posts before it gets banned.

I see. I will take this to the admin, mixos, and see if we can put something together; I am sure you have better things to do than to clean spam.

I would like to be able to ban spammers myself but I don't think mixos will give me the power to do that because he's had problems before with a corrupt moderator.

That would certainly help and quality moderation is indeed important. Maybe increased registration security will have some benefits too...I am sure other forums have had this problem.

I have PMed him, let's see if we can do something about it.
