Hi all,

I have a project I'm working on where I'd like to use solenoid and motors in place of microphones and speakers within an audio circuit.

Is this possible??

I assume the main issues are getting the impedences at match at both ends and the amount of power needed to move the motors/solenoids. Do I use transformers to match these? Will I need them to be specially hand wound?

Any advice/ thoughts appreciated

Cheers!

Alex

A solenoid or a motor cannot move fast enough to make good sound. They are used to vibrate things at low frequencies.
You should be able to find an amplifier with enough voltage and current to drive your solenoid and motor, but the inductance is much higher than a speaker which makes high back-EMF that might destroy an audio amplifier.
