Hi, I've just starting studying about LVDS signals and i got a little confused.. When we say they are referenced to each other does it mean that ground return path is not needed? For example, i want to transfer an LVDS signal from one pcb to another through a cable, a twisted pair is enough? Or do i need an extra wire for ground connection?

A twisted pair will do but for optimum noise immunity, you need a screened cable.

I do not answer private messages asking for help because no one else can: benefit from advice I may give or correct me if I'm wrong.

Please ask on the open forum if you have a question: if I know the answer, I'll be happy to help.
