Showing output of a power supply on a 7 segment display or LCD screen

Hi to all!!

Well, I'm a newbie to this electronics sorta things...currently i'm studying electrical engineering and my teacher has asked me to build a power supply whose output can be seen on a 7 segment display or an LCD...please help??...if anyone really knows how to do it...Thanks

Attach a digital voltmeter at the output of the power supply.
