Evaluate the Swiss precision for free!

With Sensirion humidity and temperature sensors you can be sure of what you measure. Moreover, now we´ll support your development by free samples.

Top-class calibrated humidity and temperature sensors Sensirion already gained many fans. Mainly thanks to a fact, that they´re not only “sensors” but a ready-made solution with a pre-amplifier, ADC and other circuits, which directly provide a final value in a digital form. That´s why it´s not necessary to solve input portion (noise, shielding, power supply, length of wires,…). Moreover, their long-term stability is verified in a praxis.

Features and usage of Sensirion sensors was introduced to you in many our articles. In the Sensirion portfolio can be found easily solderable types on a small PCB like for example SHT11(15) or SHT71 (75), as well as miniature types in SMT DFN packages like for example SHT21 (25) and also the new SHTC1. Small DFN package is practically impossible to solder manually, but it´s relatively easily manageable by means of a solder paste and a hot-air soldering station or ideally by a reflow in a hot-air oven.

Maybe, you´ve already noticed, that in many articles we also bring you a contest with a possibility to win free samples of a given component. We usually draw by lots 1-10 winners, which will directly receive free samples.

Still, if you´re seriously interested to try a given sample for a development of your (industrial) application, please contact us by e-mail. In many cases, we can provide you a given sample even if you wasn´t one of lucky winners of the contest.

USBTenki: USB Temperature sensors and more

raph @ raphnet.net writes:

USBTenki is an electronic project to interface sensors to an USB port for collecting weather related data such as temperature. The firmware supports many different sensors and interfaces. It is up to you to decide what your USBTenki will support.

Arduino Temperature Humidity Sensor

Arduino Temperature Humidity Sensor @ PlastiBots – [via]

The projects I do tend to fall in one of two buckets – either proof-of-concept (so I can learn new stuff) or items that have some sort of functional use. The need for this project came about when my wife was prodding me about the humidity in the house and whether our humidifier was doing it’s job correctly. Most people would just go out and buy a temp / humidity sensor and be done with it. However, if you have a look around here, you will see that I don’t fit that mold. Instead, I decided to build an accurate temp / humidity sensor with a Sensiron SHT11 to read the values, a RBBB Arduino kit to process everything and an Adafruit 128×32 OLED to display the results – all wrapped up in… LEGO! Read on for more…

USB sensor board

coremelt.net writes:

This piece of hardware enables you to connect a number of TWI sensors to your PC via USB. At this moment the board supports one SHT11 and up to 8 DS1621. These sensors can measure temperature (DS1621) and relatvive humidity (SHT11). A PC client is capable of writing the data into a MySQL database. The data can then be visualized with Gnuplot using the plotting tool, providing a multitude of options.

Wireless temperature and humidity sensor with USB interface

This project is a wireless temperature and humidity sensor with USB interface based on obdev’s RemoteSensor example and their firmware-only USB implementation. The main change is the replacement of the analog sensors with a Sensirion SHT11 digital temperature and humidity sensor. The sensor unit consists of an ATTiny45 microcontroller, a SHT11 sensor, and a hoperf RFM12 868 MHz transceiver module. Check details on the link below.

Digital & Binary clock with thermometer & hygrometer

This project is a Digital clock that is able to show time in both a LCD display and in LED display binary output. It also has a thermometer and a hygrometer able to show relative humidity and absolutely humidity. It is build around Microchip PIC16F917, a RealTimeClock Maxim DS1305 and Sensirion SHT11.
