tv tuner box with coax to component?
pearlyred replied to pearlyred's topic in Electronic Projects Design/Ideas
I'll have to go have a look, hopefully they wont be too expensive. We dont have Digital tv here yet, other than sky, so im just after plain old analog. Might see if i can pick up an old vcr and take it out of that, though im a bit dubious to as i dont know anything about them. Would it still need to be powered for it to work? I guess it would.. -
Hi all, I've recently purchased a projector and would like to be able to watch certain things on it from normal tv, ie concerts, sports etc. The projector has no input for a coax lead and no built in tuner, so one option would be to run the coax through an old tv or video and then output via component/s-vid to the projector. however this is quite bulky and would look silly in my new home theatre. What I want is some sort of tuner i can plug the aerial coax into and then output the tv channels to the projector. Anyone have ideas how i could accomplish this, if possible? Cheers PR

I think the indicator relay on my car is playing up as the flashing keeps pausing/stopping and all the bulbs are working. Have pulled the relay out, just wondering if there's any way i can test things or fix it? Does anyone know much about these? i can see a small IC on there, which I assume must be a timer, but i dont really have a clue. Would this be the most likely part to fail? Some pics of the relay here Any advice on whether this is fixable and how would be great. cheers

Hi folks, I'm fairly new to the electronics scene, having just dabbled with a few basic things in previous years. What I'm looking at doing as a home project is creating a 'box' which can accept various sensors (temp, ph etc) for measuring water parameters. I want this to connect to a controlling pc where the data will be displayed etc. Since theres so much I need to learn, I figured I would do this a bit at a time, starting with temp. So.. any ideas on how I could create some sort of waterproof temp sensor which I could use to send data to a pc? Probably using the LPT port? If I can learn how the circuit will work I can create some software for it. I'm a little more comfortable with this part. It'll use a mix of VB and C++. Parts of this are probably already available, but i'd really like to learn and do my own from scratch if i can, just need a helping hand to get started. Cheers Lee
