  1. To satisfy your craving for pictures, have a look at some pictures of the flood from a couple days ago: http://wishi-waspecial.livejournal.com/104152.html#cutid1
  2. Maybe that just means I've spent too much time this summer on the computer?? :P
  3. When I say disaster, I mean disaster!!!! I got into a habit of going down there and working and disasemling things, then not cleaning them up after I was finished... I am in the process of cleaning, pictures when it is more presentable.
  4. I plann on moving them downstairs into my workshop (which is a complete disaster right now) after I finish building some shelves. I asked for a cople old hdd's and my friend brought me 6 old premio's that he bought at an auction (20 for $5). Kind of surprised me, when I went out to my car and he was sitting there waiting with 6 big paper weights... :D
  5. I was using an off brand dremel tool with a grind stone attached to it... Result: I broke the drive transmission, which is only a spring... Maybe since I broke my rotary tool I don't need that drill press any more. I kind of fixed it, but it is a little bit off balance, so at high speeds the tool vibrates alot. :'( Someone gave me an old Musket scanner, a very compact unit. Mine only had 1 bar... And just think, our own modderator throwing out a perfectly re-usable scanner.... ;D
  6. Maybe I could just take an old clock radio and de-solder the components and then carefully re-assemble them suspended in the air. I have no room for such a device on my bedside table, take a look: (My room is a bit cleaner now than it was then...) :-\
  7. I am actually using 2 printer rods with the copper bearings... Right now the project has come to a hault because someone has stolen my drill bits and the ones I have (that werent stolen) aren't the right size...
  8. Now that would be pretty nifty. ;D Know any medium compexity clock radio designs? (I'm still a newbie when it comes to IC's... :-[)
  9. Ante's picture: has inspired me, but I'm not sure what I want to make mine do... ??? any suggestions?
  10. Maybe this will make up for it: Spent last right de soldering components from a monitor I found in a dumpster. What is left of the poor monitor: (still some work to do) :-\
  11. But think, that $30 I just saved went towards buying more pcb supplies, or better yet, That variable temperature soldering iron that I've always wanted... In my search I did run across the Dremel press (for $30 as you mentioned), but making something is always more fun? :)
  12. to push the drill back up when force isn't applied to lever? If so good idea! ;D
  13. Here is my design. I have started building it and I would say that I am 3/4ths of the way done with it... I'll post pictures later. Comments/ improvements on my design are welcome ;D
  14. They went me the wrong sample so it was just going to ly around in my parts case for years... Technically I saved it from being wasted. :-\
  15. Reason I asked about the leaf blower: found one someone was throwing out becasue the handle was cracked.
  16. When I first got it I searched through google results for about 3 nights and found stuff, just not what I was lookin for. The company that used to make these units was bought out/ changed there name or something like that and doesn't make these units or parts for them any more. I was looking on ebay and found the software for this and they wanted $35 + shipping for it (they were just 2 floppy disks). Just kind of hoping some one in the forums used to work with one or something... :-[
  17. How much blowing is needed? Can you have too much 'blowing'? I'm thinking a leaf blower...
  18. Recently I wrote a How-To for Mounting a Tele Conversion lense on to my Sony DSC-S40 digital camera. The method could be used for any camer tho. Here is the link: http://wishi-waspecial.livejournal.com/102438.html (trying to fill up this Hardware section... :-X)
  19. I'm looking for a drill press design for drilling pcb using a dremel, any ideas? I think this has already been done some where, but why not disscuss it? Besides, It kind of dissapoints me that the hardware section is kind of empty... :'(
  20. Actually, The only thing I have ever sold are those the pcb keychains and that wasn't even through my website. :( Although they were a big hit at my HIgh school. 8) That particular copper sculpture is something I made for my girlfriend... Ok, I'll admit, half of those things on the website I made for my girl friend... It was a little idea I had to market them on the internet, so far no luck. I guess I'm not appealing to the right demographic ??? YOu wouldn't know anything about marketing would you Ante? ;)
  21. A couple monts ago I bought an "Allen Bradley SLC 500 Programable Controller" at a goodwill (thrift/second hand store) for $8.95 (US). At first I wasn't entirely sure what I was about to buy, I was just impressed by the 12 shinny toggle switches... I got home plugger it in and it powered up, but the LED beside the lable "CPU Fault" was blinking... there is a removeable flap and under are two (empty) IC sockets, I'm assuming this is the faulty CPU... Here are some pictures: Serial interface: Flaps closed: Flaps open: The empty IC sockets: Info: (sorry for bad quality) Is anyone familiar with the "Allen Bradlet SLC 500 programalbe Controller? Does anyone know what part I need to replace the missing cpu? I know this is a hardware forum, but I'm also wondering if anyone has the software for this unit. Hope you can help ;) ;)
  22. Just made this tonight: Hoope you like it. :)
