  1. Hiya, I am working on a project, which includes a P87LPC767FD 8bit microcontroller.
  2. Thank you very much for your help. The pot, was simply to control the amount of electricity flowing into a chip so as to control the output. Anyway thank you very much for clearing that up for me. Diarmuid
  3. Hiya, I've just got what I hope is a quick question.
  4. I dont think it is that one, as the one I have is in a case with one round side and one flat side.
  5. On an audio circuit I am copying, there are a lot of resistors with just one line, a black one in the centre. As in the colour code, black is 0 are all these resistors likely to be 0 ohms and thus can I just replace them with normal wire? Thanks for your help Diarmuid
  6. The case is pretty much the normal size, in that it is like all the other transistors I have seen. I dont know the exact sizes, but if you could tell me what measurments I need, I could probably find them. Thanks Diarmuid
  7. Hi, I am having some difficulty duplicating a circuit which I have come across. One of the components, is a transitor and is marked in the following way: 1) It has 205 M8 on the top 2) and 206 j174 on the face side I have tried running various combonations of the above markings through google, rapid electronics and google to no effect. Does anyone know what transistor this is, or even what type it is? Also, when replacing a transistor, is it likely to damage/break/stop the opperation of the circuit? Thanks for all your help Diarmuid
  8. From what I can find, 555 timers only seem to be able to output pulses, is this right, because I need a steady output as opposed to a pulsing one. Thanks very much
  9. I am building a small 10V control panel, for a stage lighting system at my local school. I have so far, got a working plan, of all of the desk apart from one bit, the fade timers. I am looking for a chip, or poteniometer, so that, I can twist the potentiometer to full, then when a current is applied, it will take up to 180 seconds to fade to that. and when the potentiometer is at 0, it will have no effect, on the other master potentiometer. (I'm not sure if that made sense, so I will try and clarify it a bit more.) I've got one fader, which fades between all channels on and all off, I need a timer circuit above that, so that it fades, for the time it has been set at and when it is set at 0, has no effect on the resistor. Thanks for your help
  10. yeah, I suppose it is. I'll try and get one today, from amazon. thanks Diarmuid
  11. Thanks for all your help so far. I am guessing that R, is resistance, but what do U and I stand for? Thanks very much Diarmuid
  12. Hi, I am looking for information, on how to calculate the resistance I need, for example If I had, the voltage I wanted to put in, and the voltage I wanted it to put out, how would I calculate the resistance needed? Thanks Diarmuid
  13. Thank you so much for all your help so far. The only transformer I can find that is above 150VA, is a 200VA one, the site mentioned that it would be possible to use a higher transformer, however it mentioned that the fuses and Caps would need raising to a higher limit.
  14. Hi, I am new here, as I came across this site searching for help with my first HUGE project.
