Hi.
I have a tv and pc in my shed about 30m from the house, i setup originally cat6e network for the computer and then later changed to wireless, i now have a cable running the length from the shed to the house near my home ent setup.
i have a tv in the shed i would like to watch footy on foxtel (satellite) but struggle with the remote.
is there a way to setup a good quality ir repeater using the existing Ethernet cable so i can use different remotes ie if i wanted to put on a movie while i work playing on on the dvd i can just take the dvd remote or same for foxtel.
any schematics would be appreciated as im a novice.
I dont want a dodge one thats intermittent or changes the code and does the wrong button presses as i purchased a cheapo china one that was weak and also you press volume up and it would send the tv chan down???
thanks in advance. -
I forgot to mention the parts i have.
5mm IR receiver

I also have a mini remote that off a different old stereo i would like to use, i dont know how to use it on this unit im going to build though, or i could just make a new remote and pout in a small box.
Any help or schematics would be appreciated.

Hi.
Can someone help me put all this together?
I want to make a IR 4 chan remote (that can go around 20 to 50m) and a receiver that can turn each chan to a relay output?
Im not e expert but know a little, thats why im asking :-*
Cheers

Hi,
I do a lot of dj'ing for friends and use my laptop with my pa speakers. Im getting over having to go over and either change track or adjust the volume. I started to use bluetooth remote control on my N97 but A) the distance was only about 10m. b) my battery wouldn't last the night.
Is there a way by using a 4 button radio remote that you can purchase from jaycar.com.au to have track forward. pause, vol up and vol down.
Or in the worst case scenario a high powered ir remote to a usb receiver i have and use girder or something, i know it has to be line of sight for this, i would like at-least a 30m distance if not longer.
Any suggestions please share.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, not sure i used the correct terminology, correct me if im wrong.
I want to remove a 4 way slide switch and replace with a push button switch that has 5 outputs that i can hook to relays. or it they can push out over 200ma. Again schematic / circuits appreciated.

Im installing a thermo fan in my car but want to use the existing temp sensor to my temp gauge for the sensor. I can find out the resistance for it but something i can vary too would be good.
If anyone knows a simple circuit / diagram i would appreciate it.

the led details are..
LED 5MM CLR ORG 35000MCD
Emitted colour: orange
Lens: water clear
Wave length (mm): 600
Pd W (mW): 500
If mA: 75
If mA (peak): 100
Vf (V) Typ: 2.2
Vf (V) Max:: 2.6
mcd Typ: 30000

Hi,
I have a boat with dual battery setup.
I want to add a solar panel to the boat and hook it to the battery system through a regulator. The local shop has a powertech 10w for $109 this week and thinking its good to buy.
The details are
Max Power 10W
Rated 12v
Open circuit 21.5v
Short current 680mA
Can someone tell me how much power this will put back into a battery in say 1hour of full sun.
Or if there is a way i can work out myself? I want to have a radio on in the boat and the fish finder. the radio is 380mA and the fish finder is 140mA ..
Cheers. -
So the old (orig) cap is cheap and the possible replacement 103k100v is the better one so i can use them.

Hi, could someone tell me how to make a 12v timer. its for my race car, i want it so it turns on the Thermo fans after 5mins of the ignition turning on from the +12v signal. the fans are relayed so i just want to put this inbetween,. is it also possible to add a button that when you press it, it turns off the timer till ignition is off and resets its self (incase the engine is started hot and doesent need the warm up period)
Thanks -
i know, but like i said, i have power.
I have a power cable from the magneto, if i put a globe on it its ok, till i rev then it blows, i just want it so it wont blow them,, then i can ge tthe bike registered! -
no because the bike is a scrambler dirt bike and not made for lights, but need to put them on so i can recreational register it. as the last fine for $380 was a bit annoying for the sake of regstering it for $100
-
ok, what if i just scrap the battery and just use the power to a splitter for headling switch and one to the brake light switch, i will still need a regulator so it doesnt keep blowin fuses. what should i use?
-
i was speaking to a small coil winders who informed me that the wire that was snipped off inside the flywheel is the lights / axuliry cable, the ingnition is a totally seperate winding. so i have 1 wire and the bike ground.
-
so can you tell me what your solution is for this, the bits i have are... 6v 35w headlight. a 6v 4.2AH sealed rechargable battery. (Diamec) 4x l7806cv to pigyback to get 4amp. what can you suggest? perhaps a higher 12v regulator and resistor it? and same for the charging?
Thanks -
hi, unsure the amp of stator but the voltage goes upto 8v on high revs so ive got a voltage regulator upto 3amp to put on it so it doent keep blowing my 6v bulbs, i was thinking of putting the regulator between the battery and stator so it keeps the voltage at 6v constant and doesnt excees 3amps if thats any help. thae battery is 6v 4.2AH
thanks -
Hi, im adding lights and a battery to my dirt bike, i lights and battery now and a regulator to stop voltage higher than 6v. but also want to put a regulator on the stator so it doesent over charger the battery, is ther ea schematic for that anywhere?
thanks -
Hi, now where i work is a frozen storage. its not a huge business just a family one. Everything is stored on pallets, we have 6 Freezers in total and only one way in and one way out. We have around 1000 pallets in use all the time.
My question is.
We always never can find stock in what freezer as all shifts move it around, I want to make something that we can embed a small chip in the side of our perm pallets and a sensor at the door picks it up as pallet 1 in room1. and when you take it out the same and sends to a computer that logs the pallet.
Now how hard would this be and what is involved? i do have a fair knowledge of electronics. but wanted some expert advice before i do anything.
Thanks -
that sounds good to me, will make it this arvo and let you know.
Thanks all of you for your help so far, you have been great.
There was just one more thing or 2.
I want a led battery status i can turn on and see when the battery is low.. (8led)
Also what can iu use to make sure the battery isnt over charged from the solar panel thats perm connected to it i have a regulator inline at the momoent
Also the 40amp is this KEMO #m034 -
Yer been practicing singing :D
Ok im slowly getting there, i got a preamp, a 40w amp and a mp3 256mb player with radio, it all works ok and volume control is ok. I have 3 more questions.
1. How do i get the stereo output to mono as the amp i use is only mono
(can i just join the 2+ of the audio together?)
2. I would like to get a sort of bass boost too or a tone control. It must be mono and <12v
3. I would like some sort of schematic for the solar panel chargig so i dont dry out the battery.
Thanks -
ok thanks, thought LED was real low current, will find a LCD now. Also what else do i need for this solar panel, i have a regulator inline now, would it be ok to just leave the panel perm connected, will it not overload the battery if its full and keeps putting charge to it? im also after a simple battery power status so i can put it on the box and see the battery power.
Thanks -
thanks for the idea. i do have a few ideas and this was one but the speaker system i have here available is a 9v with a sub and 2 l/r speakers i might still go ahead. I was also thinking i might use a
Alarmclock. So i can have the Time, RADIO and also make a line to add on a mp3 player if i want to listen to custom speakers.
I have just purchased a bigish 12v battery rated 12v-18AH/20hr also a 4.5mw 14v solar panel, i did a few calculations ish and i figure if i dont hammer the music loud i would be able to use the power from the battery for around 10hrs without any charging. But with the solar perm connected it should be fine. I will aslo add a cigarette socket to the box so in my tent i can plug a lamp into it also the airbed pump.
Any ideas now for the music source. I would prefer digital radio not analouge dials. also as here in aus when you go inland abit signals are a little crap to pick up so io might have to make a preamp if its possible.
Thanks

Hi all. Im making a juke box and my last piece has just turned up.. The Electronic coin selector.
The jukebox software accepts counter on a serial port but i have no idea how to set this up to do that.
I have the cable on the unit as such in the photo.
Could someone please tell me how to setup to serial port. i have a12v power supply already hooked upto black and red .
Cheers
