  1. what type of battery would you reccomend. i might go for the philips amp. I was thinking of getting a spotlight torch and using the mini car batery out of that but finding a 12 is awkward most are 6v or 9v or could i use a load of recharge D batteries so i can stick the solar panel onto it so it keeps them topped up? Thanks for your help so far. \ Stu
  2. So can someone please look at these projects and tell me if any of these are suitable for me and the time they would last for, i dont want it for blasting music out, jsut as background music for a quite fishing spot we always goto....also i only want it in MONO not stereo so would that make these last alot longer as im only using one chanel? http://www.aaroncake.net/circuits/amp20w.htm http://www.reconnsworld.com/audio_16wattamp.html http://www.maxim-ic.com/quick_view2.cfm/qv_pk/4834
  3. like i said its only for background music or radio, mabey 100w is a bit loud the same as 50w. mabey a 30w or less system. What do you think and do you know of anmy schematics so i can make a coupkle and try them.
  4. Hi, i regularly gofishing/campoing with aload of mates and always someone gets a flat car battery from music on. So my idea is....... A Box with a small sub and midrange speakers, a amp and mabey a mp3/radio player inside.. Now for all this i would like a smallish battery mabey 6-9v rechargeable and i want to put a solar panel on the box lid so it keeps charging it, (in aussie we have lots of sun) Its not a high powered system just a system for some background music. So any i help / ideas? I havce speakers already, i just need some 6-9v amp schematic (Mono no more than 100w or less is great prob around the 50w mark) that i can just plug the earphone socket of the mp3 player into the box and ,turn on and off we go. Also the solar panel, ive not had much dealing with them so any advice for what i would need. size, Wattage or voltage. Thanks all in advance Stu
  5. Thats great thanks. any schematics are good for my level of knowhow. Ta Stu
  6. thanks for the reply, how many videos did it feed and would it be possible to get it changed to VGA monitors, would you share the schematic? Thanks again Stu
  7. As some of you know i do my own karaoke. now i want to make something that i can plug upto 8 monitors into so they all disply what comes from the Monitor out of my laptop. I found this http://www.anatekcorp.com/driving.htm and not sure if this can be changed to go to 8 monitors. would i need to put switches on the out puts im not using if i only needed to use 5 on a booking? If someone could be kind enough to simplify this to run multiple screens or if you know a schematic im looking for i would be most happy. Thanks in advance
  8. Im trying to make a standalone powered subwoofer for my disco so i can get rid f the amp i carry around. I want it so i can plug in the line out of a speaker and plug it into the sub and it auto gets the low freqs i also want it around 800w with a volume control on it. then i can build this inside the sub box with the 18" speaker i have for it. Any schematics of newish or upgraded amps would be appreciated. BTW the voltage is 230v thanks
  9. I want to make a 6 chan sound to light unit thats capable of running upto 100w per chan (par38). It must have speed control for chaser and also a line input for the sound to light and be 240v. Any one know of a schematic or can help? Thanks in advance, Stu
  10. But, each mic uses a different frequency so and its only the receivers. so why would it be a problem of blanking, if thats the case wouldnt you not be able to watch two tv chanels at the same time or listen to 2 radiostations at once? or am i going out of my depth :P thanks
  11. hi, i jsut purchased for my karaoke 2 base stations (2 cordelss mics per base) they are huge items about the size of a dvd player, when i opened them thay has a tiny board in it, ive now mounted them in my rackmount without the case and in one strip. My question is. Each mic had its own aeriel. Would i be able to put them all together on 1 aeriel so i dont have to pull out 4 everytime i have a gig. The details from the box are FM 110-270 Thanks for any help
  12. Thanks fopr that, didnt know i could send through DC too, Also how would i determin the current? could i possible but say 2 higher amp xformer in its place so i cna take what it wants or does it need to be the roughly exact to what it needs. Also say i find it uses 9v dc that im testing it with would that mean i could buy a 9v AC and hook it up. Thanks Stu
  13. Its not the cap. Like i said how i found out it was the transofrmer was Plugged in the power. blew fuse Un plugged the transformer 240v input from the board. No fuse Blow plugged back in the transformer to the board 240v. and unplugged the 2 red wires from the output of the transformer off the main board and fuse blew. So to me that says the transofrmer is the problem. Thanks Stu
  14. I am no expers but i chased up the info on the ics onboard and they run no higer than 15v. attached areimages of the ic specs and the side powerboard. please someone help, i ahve a gig on in 2 nights and need to get this working. Could i perhaps get a varaible selectable psu AC and power up the thing - the transformer, and hook up the ac powersupply, then gradually nock it up a setep till something happens, so i know which is the right power supply? Thanks Stu
  15. Hi thanks for your reply, this isnt actually a project but a purchased item. ive had it a year or so now so warrenty is expired. its not been messed with atall, it jsut popped the fuse. and did it again and again.. So thats why im trying to fix it Thansk Stu
  16. Hi, can someone help me, i have a $1200 laser i use for my discos but its died. It keeps popping fuses. I messed around with it and found when i remove the transformer the fuses nolonger pop. The layout is like this Power in > to sideboard > direct line out to xformer (both brown wires to red wires out) / another line out to 240v laser unit / line in from transformer (redwires) following the track of the red wires on the main side board they go to 3 black / silver diodes > 16v 2200uf cap then trough to some ics AT89c52 / td62084ap.. Wil lsend images when the missus brings back camera.. Howe i found iot it was the xformer was unhooked the wire to the xformer (brownones) no fuse blew. put them back in and unplugged the red wires that go back into the side powerboard and it still blew. If anyone has any idea how i can find out what this is i would most appreciate it.. Thanks Stu
  17. Thank you MP that is very heplful. All the caps that inline with the mic are either 16v or 25v. looking at the bottom too, the main power (the thick track) come in onboard and goes stright to the 3 pin transitors then out to the power blocks at the back. So back to my orig question, if this is a low voltage mic, is it possible to conect it to my lineout from my mixing desk, I know i mught have to add a resistor or something but not sure what. Thanks
  18. Hi, is there any schematics. projects im trying to find sometheing that i can plug into my laptop monitor out so i can send it to a tv, a projector and another monitor. So basically, 1 monitor in, 2 monitor out (Monitor and profector) 1 TV out. So i can use them all a t the same time too. Thanks Stu
  19. what would one look like? opto-isolators? Thanks Stu
  20. i am unsure of the situation, im not that clever :D Ive put a image on my server if you could look and see what you think, Thanks Stu www.geelongcarmods.com/images/board.jpg
  21. What if i stick my meter on it and check the voltage?
  22. I dont think it is, ive touched the mic when it was turned on. its one of them tiny mics. with the tiny solder pads o nthe back.
  23. Hi, i have a sound to light box that has a internal mic, the box is for 240v out to 8 lights, it has sound to light or chase functions. I now have a rack mount and put this in but the mic is useless for picking up the audio. Would it be atall possible to remove the mic and wire it to the line out of my mixer. or is the voltage too high and damage it? If anyone can help i would most appreciate it. Thanks Stu
  24. Hi i picked up a nvidia geforce 4 ti4600 card the other day but with nothing, jsut the card. I wanted to use the tvout on it, but the cables ate so expensive. All i want it a 9pin minidin to composit. I have a 9pin mini din where but dont know the pin layout, and not had any joy finding it on google Could someone perhaps either tell me the pin layout (incase i need to make a different cabe later) And what to connect to make a composit out. Thanks Stu
  25. Ok im back at work now, that link didnt work because my session expired, its pretty crap when i didnt even log in. Anyway, i was a way from work last week so going of what i remember, the proper details are 9X 230v - 400w lamps. I wired each lamp seperatly so i can put them all into a junction box or use all them seperately. pref want to use the whole altogether though. If all im doing is adding the watts toget to ge the total load well the total would be 3600w. thank for the help so far
