  15. The photos on the project page here in Electronics lab are with the 10K resistors. I agree that are high and i should test a lower value. About the collector resistors these are calculated to produce a white color when all leds are on. That means that we don't need all led to power on maximum. Some of them will be used below specifications to achieve better efficiency on the produced colors.
  16. I think that a Power Electronics board is a good idea. So i moved on creating such a board. You can find it here: http://www.electronics-lab.com/forum/index.php?board=33.0 Thanks Gazza for the idea!
  17. Hi you can find cheap 2x16 LCD here: http://home.exetel.com.au/marknac/displays.htm He sells 13$ each
  18. I think that the reason is that the main advantages of SMPS are underutilized in such applications. That means that we don't need a high cost and difficult to design PSU for a home audio amplifier that powers from mains voltage and has a noticeable volume, nor on a lab power supply. Having efficient of 70-80% and up doesn't offer much in these applications (instead offer much in battery powered applications). Among all these parameters, we add the non existed problem (on linear psu) of EMI/RFI emmitions that can be attenuated using filters and shields but can't be eliminated. In many cases the switching frequency is in audio spectrum or a little above and that makes the problem more complicated. So, we gain more than we loose not using SMPS in such applications. That's the reason!
  19. ;D ;D ;D Thanks all of you ;D ;D ;D That's true! Today i become 24 (that's a nice number!) and i feel really lucky receiving greetings from all of you! I will try to do my best and wish peace and creativity to all nice people like you!
