  2. Hi shiva garg There is a serie about transistors in EPE, starting in februari 2003 You build a lot of projects using only a few transistors, its also a very small amount of teory. But watch out, the AM reciever have an error, i did buildt it when i spoted it, but ask me what the error is, if you get the mags and build it. The EPE mags is somewhere here on the forum. //Staigen

  7. Hi Siberia I'm sitting here now, with the book in front of me, and it is like aProgrammer say, its SN72xxx, for example SN72301A is the same as LM301A. But SN72106 dont seems to exist either, the old texas name for LM106 is SN52106, SN72306 do exist, its LM306. And it seems to be linear OP-amps, linear ICs like LM386 and such begins with SN76. //Staigen

Hey Logan You can also use one of the 3-input NOR gates of the CD4000 IC, reducing the amount of IC:s to just only one, dont forget to connect the other gate:s inputs to something that have a logical state! But i belive the project is a scool project that needs to have all the gates. But a little text about it can be good to present to the teacher, so he see that you have penetrated the question properly!   12. Hi For an OR: Connect pin 4 and 5, output at pin 3 For an AND: Connect pin 12 and 13, output at pin 11 Also think of that every input MUST be connected to something that have a logic state! //Staigen
  13. Hi Logan Look at CD4000, it have two 3-input NOR gates and one NOT(inverter) But it is unusual, i admit that. //Staigen
  14. Hi Logan Its logic gates, dont bother about pin-numbers, i forgot to erase them! Just see them as logic gates. In reality its 3 IC:s, but they have more logic gates, the IC containing the NOT gate(usally called inverter) have 6 gates in the same IC, and the other 2 have 4 gates in each IC. You can use CMOS or TTL, it dosent matter, you can't mix them thou, well, sometimes you can do that too. Get yourself a pair of good books about TTL and CMOS, and you will soon learn how it works.   15. Hi Siberia, Ante and hotwaterwizard Wasn't Texas Instrument's IC:s beginning with SN72xx OP-AMPs? I have a substitute list for them somewhere(The Texas Instruments Linear Handbook). The book is old, and some of these IC:s was substituted allready then. Its too late to look for that book now. //Staigen

  17. Hi Steven Its hard to tell, are they European or Japanese? Where did you find them? You can put a small current throu them, and check the voltage between anode and cathode. Try 0.1, 1 and 10 mA. //Staigen

  20. Hi Load resistor? What load resistor? There is no load resistor! Use 3 resistors, R1, R2 and R3. R1=R2=lets say 100K and R3=50K Connect one end of R1 to +5V and the other end to the -input of OP-amp. Connect one end of R2 to the -input of OP-amp too and the other end to output of OP-amp. Connect one end of R3 to the +input of OP-amp and the other end to Vin. Use a OP-amp that can go rail to rail! Thats it! :) //Staigen

  22. Hi windoze killa and EdwardM There must be something wrong with the picture and the resistors here! R1=1K1? R2=1K R3=9K? R4=10K? Instead R1 should be 0(short), R2 omitted, R3=R4 And the IC an ideal rail to rail one, else there should be a resistor in the +input too(R3/2) //Staigen
