  1. hi audioguru! in saturation region i guess a transistor has a beta which is lower than its value in active region. for hard saturation beta in saturation ,beta in saturation is generally 10 times less than in active region.do u agree with this? base current is higher than usual once the transistor is in saturation.......
  2. hi all! we generally talk about bits per second in digital transmission specially computer terminology. does bandwidth have no meaning here? shannons relation relates bandwidth to bit rate how does the relation comes? ;D
  3. some time spending and meddling up with data sheets and of course as audioguru said experience! ;D
  4. hi audioguru! nowadays we have error correcting algorithms too. but regarding digital communication can u tell me what is bandwidth(in digital context)
  5. hi audioguru! do u mean about the drops in the connecting wires in case the measured wire is long? ;Dyeah that may be the case and also it is inconvenient to handle ;D
  6. DATASHEETS LIST BETA IN THE SATURATION REGION......... it is a convention for all manufacturers.
  7. we just used ohms law for it.i guess we generally coil up a wire to get more length into the ckt and hence higher resistance
  8. hi dear! even if u measure the resistance or any qty using a meter u have to pass some current isnt it? ;D
  9. hi arun! are u interested in measuring its intensity? ;D
  10. vineet! i am afraid but u should have a very good hand at a programming language preferably C or C++.do u have ?
  11. hi kevin! actually i was asking this because in our school days when we were asked to measure the resistance of a iece of wire our teacher always told us to coil it up.i dont understand even now why ? what difference does it make? ;D
  12. HI GUYS!(kevin) and by default too if i say that beta of xyz transistor is say b,then b is the beta in active region when vce causes Ic to almost stabilize at a particular Ib. i guess datasheets also list the same ;D
  13. hi walid! beta of a transistor is determined as: setting up a known value of Vce for the transistor.in sinking mode apply the collector current of say 5mA.sense the base current and divide the values.u will get different betas for different VCEs........thats sure. ;D
  14. hi guys! do we have color codes for all the 3 namely capacitor, inductor and resistor?
  15. hi all! i wish to know that if i have a wire piece and i just coil it up. what do i get an inductance or resistance?
  16. Frequency determing patterns? i some time wonder why do we call them lissajous? ;D ;D ;D
  17. hi MP! it seems that u have been conducting interviews. any tips for me as a candidate like how to behave in an interview? what factors u look for in the candidate? attitude, aptitude, knowledge?what percent of each? thanks!
  18. DOES any one of you have a sort of question bank or a set of technical questions asked in multinational companies of electronics? Your personal experiences are also welcome.i am going to face them in near future thanks in advance! ;D
  19. Hi source2! It is a good idea i admire it. It can be done but u will have to design a big interfacing circuitary consisting mostly of buffers and gates which can drive next level comprising of your RAM and ROM .Make sure they are not loaded or overdriven. Moreover impedance must be matched. If u are using diff logic families for ICS THEN FAN IN ,FAN OUT ALSO! No doubt it can be done but why xcant u purchase one from the market? ;D
  20. hi there! \many of the controller application examples are availabale on this site as well as others in microcontroller sections. regarding the choice of programmer u may use a platform called proview 32 (u should know the basics of C ) once the code is ready just burn it in the ROM.
  21. may i know the size of your antenna? it is definitely related to the amount of hum you hear. It should be small in case of microwaves.
  22. hi friend! i dont understand whether u are using zilog or intel processor as the controller in your project? Any way both are similar in working just companies differ. May be i can help u more in Intel and Atmel. Can u tell me the project u have finalized? ;D
  23. hi kevin ! i too dont like non linearitities. lower but linear beta is better for me. hi audioguru! that means By changing emitter resistor we can change the gain of the transistor. Whats the problem if we make extremely low Re?Do we have biasing problems? or we may use high Rc? Actually i wish to conduct a study on gain control of a transistor. How should i proceed and turn the knob for high gain? ;D
  24. Just think of controlling a stepper motor to move in steps according to your desire or a given motor rotating through an angle fed by you through the port. or a panel of LEDs glowing in a particular fashion. ;D
  25. right there the path from milli to Megas! i have however seen from 1 ohm to say 10 mega ohms thats it thanks for the info guys! ;D ;D ;D
