  1. hi dido! i too have an experience with propanol, not only digital camera,u can use it for cleaning tape recorder and VCR heads, almost all electronic systems.Even if you dont get it easily,i guess any volatile liquid will do the job like ethanol, petrol, ether.Mind you, i have my personal experience with propanol and anaesthetic agent ether(i got it from a doctor for cleaning my VCR head) dont be afraid and go ahead with propanol .Dont forget to tell me the results!!! prateek
  2. hi udoaka! i will give you the circuit in my next post positively.at this time i can tell u that arrange for a few temperature sensors and a differential amplifier preferably(a high gain 741 would do) prateek
  3. hi dido! i have not done it myself! but i think propanol will work for you! try it cleaning with propanol! prateek
  4. hi there! r u using any software for preparing the schematic also? if yes may i plz know the name of software. i use orcadlite by cadence for schematic design and believe me its very user friendly prateek
  5. hi trigger! by the pentium processor i simply mean not only the processor chip but a desktop computer as a whole. i mean SUMIT can use the computers ports for data transfer and handshake signals for his motor(stepper preferably) just as u connect any device to ur PC like a printer or scanner or a digital camera.I have myself made a program for LCD interfacing through a computer's parallel port.Similar i mean for the motor.I dont mean opening the cabinet and taking out the processor chip!!!!!!! prateek
  6. hi sumit! processors like 8085 and 8086 are atleast according to me not sufficient enough for an efficient position control system. try out writing a C program in a pentium processor if you have one at your place. If u r an engineering student(as i guess) then it should not be much problem.but remember be careful using inport commands especially if the computer is a personal one!!!!! me too an engg student .send me a private mail for that i have my id in my profile prateek
  7. hi trigger i wish to know if die bonding and mounting are same or not? in regard to VLSI IC TECHNOLOGY PRATEEK
  8. oh god audioguru! that means i held a serious misconception that ground and earth are same i.e at zero potential wrt live terminal? is there a diff b/w the three: ground ,earth and common point?your comments? prateek
  9. HI SHAHRIAR! U HAVE DO BE PROFICIENT IN ONE OF THE PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES PREFERABLY 'C' FOR DEVELOPING THE LOCK! YOU CAN STORE THE CODE IN AN EEPROM OR ANY MEMORY STICK(ON A USB) AND INPORT THE CODE!FROM THE PORT ADDRESS(YOUR PROGRAMMING SKILL IS TESTED HERE) BE CAREFUL WHILE USING THE INPORT COMMAND.BE SURE WITH THE ADDRESSES AS THE PORTS ARE CONNECTRD TO MOTHERBOARD DIRECTLY.IF THIS CODE MATCHES EXIT THE LOOP WHICH CHECKS FOR THE CODE AND GIVE THE PRINTER COMMAND PRATEEK
  10. BEFORE DEVELOPING A ROBOT! TRY OUT WRITING A SIMPLE MICROPROCESSOR (CONTROLER) PROGRAM FOR POSITION CONTROL OF A DEVICE JUST LIKE A MOTOR! ONCE YOU ARE PERFECT IN IT,ROBOT IS NOT MUCH AWAY.ACTUALLY ROBOT IS NOTHING BUT POSITION CONTROLS OF DC MOTORS!!!! PRATEEK
  11. hi all! can anybody tell me if die bonding and mounting are same? with regard to IC FABRICATION? PRATEEEK
  12. hello everybody! as audioguru said in his last post that optocouplers prevent expensive devices like computers from burning out.but there is one thing that if we have high voltage across say a motor winding with respect to ground and we still short the two grounds of computer and motor what difference does it make? audioguru! do u mean that if i have ideal carefully wound devices with correct polarity of ground and live,i dont need optocouplers? prateek
  13. hi there! any difference in data flow and protocols used in ISA AND PCI?or are they same for a particular hardware interfacing are they interchangable? prateek
  14. hi kevin ! could you please be some more precise on the words like "balance medium" "quieter medium" and conditioning of the signal.what type of conditioning is this? prateek
  15. hi audioguru! u gave the example of a triac controlled lamp earlier. GROUND IS A GROUND I.E ZERO WITH RESPECT TO LIVE NOW WHETHER IT IS COMPUTER'S 5 V GROUND OR AC 230V GROUND WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? WHAT "BAD" CAN BE CAUSED BY SHORTING 2 ZERO POTENTIAL POINTS? WHICH MAKES U SAY "GOODBYE COMPUTER"PLZ DO REPLY SOON PRATEEK
  16. hi audioguru! wat do u wish to say by writing that some opamps use -ve supply as ground what does this imply? prateek
  17. hi all! u all might be knowing 741 ic is an operational amplifier. it is an 8 pin IC.AND WE ALSO KNOW THAT 8th pin is not used and it is neither ground. i sometimes wonder why do manufacturers include this pin,i.e there is no need to take this connection 7 pin wont be sufficient? comments? prateek
  18. hi everybody! how is an optocoupler different from an isolation transformer? prateek
  19. hi mony! there are many ways of building voltage multipliers ! one of them is by using capacitors principle of storing charge ie by using RC networks in cascade .can also be made by using full adders(specifically for multiplying 2 numbers) prateek
  20. hi audioguru! i think that is where his misery lies, even if his meter has a diode switch or even if it has resistance switch,i think multimeter battery will not be strong enough to circulate ample current through 44k resiatance!! an external source may be required prateek
  21. IN MY OPINION THE CONVENTIONAL CONTINUITY CHECK IS DIFFICULT HERE MAY BE IF YOU HAVE EXTRA STOCK!!!!!TRY CAN GO FOR IT OUT APPLYING SOMEWHAT HIGHER VOLTAGE B/W BASE AND EMMITER.OR U CAN MEASURE THE DEVICE GAIN BY CONNECTING SUPPLY AND A few VOLT SIGNAL(mV SIGNAL WILL I GUESS BE INSUFFICIENT TO TURN IT ON) PRATEEK
  22. thanks ante for the links! i am still unable to find the difference between ISA AND PCI PRATEEK
  23. hi there! feed a rectified AC to ur meter first use 10 different AC VALUES then calibrate your meter for corresponding DC value prateek
  24. hi audioguru! i think in my case i connected electrolytic capacitor with correct polarity but internally the polarity was reversed. i.e i put the blame on the capacitor manufacturer.is it fair enough as an explanation? how often is it the case? prateek
  25. AND I MUST CONFESS I HAVE SEEN A VERY HIGH VOLTAGE CAPACITOR EXPLODE! IT IS ALMOST LIKE A BOMB WHICH CAN EVEN KILL.THE YELLOWISH PASTE COMES OUT WHICH IS REALLY HOT!!!!! PRATEEK
