  1. hi audioguru! even if we get a shock!what is that which killsa person? high voltage or high current? prateek
  2. HI ALL! PERCENTAGE CHANCES OF MY SONY FM RECIEVER CATCHING IT? PRATEEK
  3. hi shahriar and audioguru! can i generalize the statement that all AC CIRCUITS are dangerous because the voltage across the connected components can be even higher than the supply as according to kirchoffs law the nrt voltage is the phasor sum of voltages across the components.for e.g in an RLC circuit i have a net supply of 400V ac(assumed) across R--------400V across L---------1000V ACROSS C------- -1000V HENCE NET 400V AM I GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION????
  4. hi all! does it have to do with very high voltage inside it? i know that i have to be careful when i open up a TV rather in all AC circuits where netvoltage is not the algebraic sum but phasor sum of the drops across the components. any comments? prateek
  5. hi audioguru! sorry for it but i could not understand wat u said,i also fear u wrongly interpreted my question.i meant that the frequency range 88-108 Mhz for FM and 540-1600 kHz for AM.is not continuous. i.e all frequencies are not used by am broadcast.some frequencies are used by other applications also why is it so? prateek
  6. HI ALL! CAN ANYONE OF YOU TELL ME THAT WHY IS A RADIO BAND-BE IT F.M OR A.M BROKEN?I MEAN IT IS NEVER CONTINUOUS I.E ALL FREQUENCIES ARE NOT PRESENT? PRATEEK
  7. HI AUDIOGURU! ONE OF MY TEACHERS ONCE TOLD ME THAT YOU CAN HAVE VOLTAGES ABOVE THE SUPPLY IN AC CIRCUITS BUT NOT IN D.C EVEN WITHOUT TRANSFORMER.IS IT POSSIBLE? DOES IT HAVE RELEVANCE TO THE TV? PRATEEK
  8. hi all! anyone who can relate the reason with high voltage inside the TV? AND IF PROPER DOUBLE INSULATION ,WHY ARE NOT OTHER DEVICES LIKE AIR CONDITIONERS,ELECTRIC IRON,REFRIGERATORS MADE SO? PRATEEK
  9. hi audioguru! from where does this high voltage comes from if the supplied voltage is only 220V? transformer?---the thought of answer. prateek
  10. hi aludioguru! i must add here that some books also say that there is no displacement current as such .it is just like a fictitious current just an analogy with the psuedo force (backward force when a car starts suddenly) this concept is introduced in security of maxwells equations of flux.any replies are welcome prateek
  11. hi kevin and audioguru! although no current flows through the capacitor plates ,but i clearly remember a term called displacement current associated witha capacitor.wat i that, who is getting displaced there!!!????? plz reply prateek
  12. hi MP and others! I HAVE HEARD PEOPLE say that amateurs should not try to repair atleast the TV or CRT because at some points there is very high voltage inside even more than the supply of 220V.how is it possible and where are these points so that i take care when i repair my TV IN future. plz reply prateek
  13. hey alun and MP i am sorry! i read your earlier post which was pertaining to FM waves. actually i had by mistake put the same question of TV at another place in the same site, which i forgot to check! prateek
  14. hi all! i guess capacitor only has a fictitious displacement current through it and no actual current is drawn by itself.isn't it the case? prateek
  15. HI ALL! CAN ANYONE OF YOU HELP ME IN KNOWING THAT WHY IS A TELEVISION NEVER HAS A GROUNDING PIN.i.e it has a 2 pin connector to the supply (this is what i have noticed) plz help prateek
  16. hi there! can i clear my physics queries in your forum? how can i become a member of your forum? i liked your site very much and wish to join it.plz reply to me prateek
  17. hi all can anyone of you tell me why no TV has a grounding third pin,it always has a 2 pin shoe connecting it to supply prateek
  18. HI ALL! I HAVE SEE MANY T.V CORDS WHICH CONNECT IT TO 230V AC.BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN A 3 PIN CORD.i.e A TV I HAVE NEVER SEEN GROUNDED.CAN ANYONE TELL WHY? PRATEEK
  19. hi alun! do you have any idea of chosing the 88-108 MHz as band width of FM and not say 100-104Ghz? dont you think that it will ensure much smaller height of antenna? why dont we use that high frequencies?
  20. hi jawaking! may i know the power level at which you are working at your place? if it is upto few watts(within TTL RANGE),YOU CAN USE A RIPPLE COUNTER ,A MOD 8 COUNTER WITH 8 STATES WILL DO THE JOB FOR YOU.YOU MAY HAVE TO APPLY SOME ADDITIONAL CIRCUIT JUST LIKE IN CASE U HAVE SINE WAVE,YOU MAY HAVE TO USE A CONVERTER WHICH CONVERTS TO SQUARE WAVE.AT O/P OF LAST FLIP FLOP IN COUNTER,YOU GET FREQUENCY OF 400/8=50 Hz.YOU CAN ALSO USE FREQUENCY CHANGER ICs.BUT FIRST ONE WILL BE BETTER CHOICE. PRATEEK
  21. hi all! hi bandwidth and high frequency differ. does working at high frequency ensure high bandwidth for the device? what do we desire, high bandwidth or frequency? prateek
  22. TRY OUT A MUSCLE STIMULATOR! CIRCUIT IS AWAILABLE ON ALL MAJOR BIOMEDICAL INSTRUMENTATION SITES,ANOTHER CHOICE IS ELECTRONIC STETHOSCOPE(AWAILABLE ON THIS SITE)DO U HAVE AMPLE TIME? PRATEEK
  23. HI ALL! SUGGESTIONS FOR RESOLUTION AND SENSITIVITY IMPROVEMENT IN THE CIRCUIT? PRATEEK
  24. hi guys! i have heard that bandwidth is precious ! save it! why is it the case when we are safely moving towards higher end of spectrum(upto tera hz)????? IS BANDWIDTH REALLY A THING TO PRESERVE???? PRATEEK
  25. I GOT THIS CIRCUIT OF A SIMPLE LIE DETECTOR AT WWW.AARONCAKE.NET BUT IT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY NEITHER DO I KNOW HOW TO OPERATE IT.I HAVE ALREADY MADE IT.ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT? PRATEEK
