In the past I have found that the caps in the 160v line will cause many out of the ordinary probolems.

In the past I have noticed electrolytic radial capacitors getting bad and not showning the usual signs. Particularly at the control function components. They are generally voltage undersized. Just a thought. Hope it gives you proper direction.

Have you checked the 12v supply to the backlight inverter or the inverter. These seem to be the most common backlighting problems.

Does anyone know of a cross reference for dac12co24mss? Any schematics out there? Trying to find one for less than 80 bucks. This is a new quest.
