How does the OP know it's not been implanted under his skin... Maybe it's not the car that's bugged. I'm sure they have a wiretap and internet tap too. Probably a keyboard logger in the mix. Does your keyboard cable seem odd in any way? -

Oh that circuit. Although I haven't built it I have little faith in the design. You can buy a Hot-Wheels speedgun from Wal-Mart for a few dollars.

What circuit are you referring to? If you're stuck on what type of LED to use you might want to try something simpler.
