I am Noby sebastian,An Engineering student from India.I made the circuit "89series flash Programmer circuit".I have made it as a part of my project work and the device is not working properly. I have used 74LS299 in place of 74HC299.Is it the problem .I connected the device to PC and tried to program an IC,but the programmer software goes hang.It shows "privilaged Instruction" whenever I click any button.It is told in the documentation that LED D2 has to go off before programming,but in my case both the LED's are on always.The 7805 IC is getting hotter.7805 will cool down if we remove 74LS299. Can you please explain me the correct procedure to do the programming.When LED D2 has to go off,after connecting to computer or,after starting the programming. ATMEL89prog.pdf
