OK, I like Steven and as long as he did not get the wrong picture of who robbed him of the moderator job I don’t care what any other snowed in individual accuses me of!
Thanks Mike! -
Hi AJB2K3,
AOpen doesn’t seem to have any interference problems with tubes in a PC!

Go for it, and good luck! ;) -
Hi mide,
What’s the wavelength and intensity? -
Hi mide,
You can’t replace an NPN transistor with a PNP!
The 3055 is NPN type! -
Hi gimo,
Note that 2SK818 is not exactly the same as 2SK818A which you asked about! -
Mixos.
When there is an obvious grudge I like to know what it’s all about so it can be corrected for the future!
I don’t mind jokes and teasing BUT I don’t like insinuations and fuzzy comments!
The solution might perhaps be me leaving this place for good!
Just say the word! -
Hi NanOp,
Sorry I don’t have this book, but I’ll keep an eye out!
The Puma needs Nuts & Volts July and August of 2006 , can you help? -
Why can’t I post pictures here?

After decoding this:
hey ppl i need help wid d above ckt..........can sm1 plz explain d use of IC1..is it only for current limiting.....also wats d input to IC2??
guys d ckt is a gr8 find thnx......but i need further help.......
also temme hw to include short ckt prevention.....plzzz
I gathered you want to know about the following:
Yes IC1 is the current limit part.
The current limit does prevent short circuiting.
You can find a complete explanation here: http://www3.telus.net/chemelec/Projects/Power-Supply/Power-Supply.htm

Hi gearhead,
They are printable, only adjust the size if necessary to fit your printer!
I am sure you know the 2.54 mm (or one tenth of an inch) distance between the IC pins, use it as a reference! -

Hi tufail,
Welcome to our forum.
Sorry I do not have any schematic for you but these PSUs have problems with bad caps, so I believe that’s what you should check first.
I hope this helps. ;) -
Who are you addressing John? Who do you mean gave it to Zeppelin? ???
-
Welcome in the team Zeppelin! ;)

What’s the source of the 50kVAC and what’s the power (current)?
Yeah, me too!
-
Hi Mike,
Believe me, I was laughing during the last post! ;D
You haven’t appeared like you where stupid before so I guessed where you where going with it. It was an obvious worst case scenario of curse! :D
BTW, could we be sure that 1000 of the 50V diodes would survive 50kV? Will the voltage in such a circuit divide equally over the diodes (50V over each)? ;) -
Temporary moderators are defiantly one way to do it. This could serve as a trial period for some interested prospects. Good thinking!
-
Yeah your right, we need to kick some ass here!
The last 24 hours had 50% crap posts and this must be taken care of!
Why not ask Steven if he's up to it? -
Hi Mike,
Why use the 1N4001 (50Volts) instead of the 1N4007 (1000Volts) if you must use diodes from this family? ;D
Why not use diodes for 32kVolts, not that many will be required? ;) -
I asked Zeppelin and he is interested in moderating, he wasn’t sure yet which board he liked to try though. I think he might work out as a moderator, what do you think about him? Shall I PM Mixos with a suggestion you think?

John, MP,
Seriously, I think we (or perhaps Mixos) have to search for suitable Moderators somehow. E-Lab needs moderators and I mean active moderators. I do not have the exact recipe for how to go about this but I think it’s a necessity to recruit moderators for all the boards. I might have some possible candidates but I don’t know if they are interested (I haven’t asked them). I do not want to stir up something that will never happened since I don’t have the final word (and don’t want to) in such matters.
Any concrete suggestions on how to proceed here? -
Hi nametc3,
Welcome to our forum.
The way to convert 50kVAC to DC is easy; just use an high-voltage rectifier!
