  1. These two books are: 1) Analog Interfacing to Embeded Microprocessors 2) Computer Buses
  2. both of these books are just classy ! thanks a lot Mugsby
  3. hi guys! well i want to run a motor that will be requiring 24V DC. I have a battery which is 12V DC and 7.6Ah. I want to convert this 12V to 24V in order to run my DC motor. What IC should i use or what method should i follow. If you are giving me any solution then please keep this thing in the mind that my motor will be requiring a current between 100 to 200 mA. I shall be thankful to u for this act of kindness. regards
  4. okz there is a bit info i forgot to draw in my H-bridge diagram and that is. With every P-channel MOSFET there is a 10K resistor connected between its gate and Vcc. and with every N-channle MOsfet, there is a 10K resistor connected between its gate and Ground. Please explain me the logic behind connecting this resistor as well.
  5. Hi guys! well im building an H-bridge circuit for driving my powerful 12V 5A motor. Im using the following block diagram for my circuit: Okz now, Im using IRF9540 as P-channel and IRF540 as N-channel. what i have seen that P channle gets on when we apply 0V to its gate and it gets off when we apply a 12V on its gate. On the contrary N channle gets on when 12V is applied on its gate and it gets Off when 0V is applied. So, what i have done is connected LEft gates of both mosfets with each other and right gates of both mosfets with each other. Then from each side the connected is given to TC4420 which is a single MOSFET Driver IC.
  6. Hi guys! well! i was getting a bit off topic according to the theme of the datasheet and part request forum so i better start the topic here now. Guys! im facing a huge terrible problem in H-bridge circuits. and i donot know what to do with it. Actually, i want to run a DC Motor with my PIC16F84A micro controller, so i will be requiring a circuit that should power my DC Motor to the full. The specifications of the DC Motor are: 12V and about 5-6A of current at full load. Now here im posting the schematic that i was using: In this circuit im using IRF540 as N-channel Mosfets and IRF9540 as P-channel Mosfets. Other things are same as given. The problem that im facing is this that My transistors are getting very very hot and at the output the motor is not running at all. Im making this circuit on the breadboard and just dont know why its not working. I have checked my connections, they are well connected but the circuit is not working even then. Please suggest any proper solution to this problem or if u can arrange for me a working H-bridge circuit for such a motor then i would be very thankful to him. Any sort of help will be highly appreciated. Please also recoommend the model nos of the transistors that u think would be appropriate to be used. Thanks in advance! Good Bye!
  7. Hi audioguru! thanks a lot for ur help. Now u see, i forgot to tell u about a bit update that im using the following circuit. Now here u can see that sources of P-channel Mosfets are connected with 12V and drains with the motor. But again im facing the very same problem that motor is not running. However two important results i have observed: 1) The status LED Blinks with a very small intensity 2) When i connect a DC motor with the circui, i can feel a very very small vibration in the motor when given forward or reverse rotations logics. THis means to me that there is not a proper amount of current given to the motor? what do u say/? U said that the gates of IRF540 need 10V to turn on, while this circuit is providing just 6V. i have checked the datasheet and it really requires 10V to
  8. Hi guys! well! i tried to implement the above circuit on my breadboard. One problemt hat im facing here is this that my LEft IRF540(n-channel) and Left IRF9540(p-channel) is getting very hot while the right transistors are both cool. And the motor is just not running. What might be the cause for this. What i have done is to connect teh point A (forward ) with my 12V Vcc to make it logic 1. and the B is connected with ground. im using a 12V 12Ah DC battery. please help me as soon as possible,
  9. One more thing that i want to ask here along with my previous questions is this that: IF I USE MOSFET DRIVERS LIKE TC4424 OR TC4420 THEN DOES IT WILL IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE. IF YES? THEN WHAT ADDITTION AND SUBTRACTION IN THE ABOVE CIRCUIT DO I HAVE TO MAKE? One more thing that i want to ask is this that one of my friends said to me that IRF540 gets burned easily when used in an H-bridge. So it is not suitable for this application, Is this correct? if yes then what should be a suitable replacement for it? thanks in advance !
  10. one more thing audio guru. dont u think that in the above diagram, there should be a 10K resistor on the right side of the left P channel Mosfet and there shoud be a 1K resistor with the left N-channel Mosfet? plz tell me that what is the correct choice? thanks
  11. Hi audioguru! well! very very sorry for not putting up the diagram. here is the diagram Now this is the circuit which i want to use. thanks for supporting IRF540. its available in our area. But i have read somewhere on a website that IRF9540 is almost a complementary P-channel mOsfet of IRF540? so can i use it? thanks in advance
  12. hi guys! following is the picture of the H-bridge i want to use. Please keep this thing in the mind that im ussing this H-bridge for some really powerful motors that will be requiring around 4-5 A of current each. So. i will be using one circuit for each motor. But the problem is this that in the following circuit, they havenot written the model no of the MOSFETs. What should be ur suggestions? Secondly, i know one MOSFET i.e. IRF540. Do u think it would be suitable as an N-channle power mosfet in the following circuit? If yes then what P-channle mosfet should i use? Please help me as soon as possible as i have a very short time left. thanks in advance
  13. Hi tony! Im greatly surprisde by ur answer. Sorry to say but i have successfuly driven a DC motor with this circuit of TC4424. Now please tell me that can i drive a more powerful DC motor(whose current is about 4A) with TC4420 by using two of them (one for each side) or will this TC4424 will be sufficient enuff to run that motor? thanks in advance
  14. Hi guys! well! i want to ask you a very simple question. which are the devices or applications which involve Class D amplifiers in their circuitry. Please provide me any link to their block diagram so that i can figure out how class D amplifier is used in them Please make it as soon as possible thanks in advance!
  15. Hi guys! well i was using the following schematic for my H-bridge in order to drive a DC motor. This circuit is fine for a small motor. Now i want to use a relatively more powerful motor whose current can get increased from 3A. The TC4424 can only support a peak current of 3A. So using this will not be a good idea i gueess. So i have decided to use TC4420 which is a single MOSFET driver but has a current support of 6A. Since it is a single driver so i would be using two of them in the same circuit so that it can proved to an equivalent to TC4424. In this way, i will make a 6A equivalent of TC4424. am i right? if not then what should i do?
  16. HI ante! thanks for that help. well! i want to show u exactly what my tunnels look like. below i have posted a figure which can describe that. U see the tunnels are not standing upright, they are rather in the form of an inclined plane. there are two tunnels. We will insert the balls from the top end of each tunnel and the ball will fall into the main pipe after passing thru the tunnel. I want to place a shutter mechanism at the end of the tunnel (the arrows are directing towards it) so that when i want the balls stop coming and when i donot want the balls keep coming one after the other. Now please tell me ur idea in the persepective of my following diagram: thanks in advance
  17. Hi guys! well! suppose that i have a tunnel that is having a slope i.e. When a tennis ball is inserted from its top end, it automatically floats to the bottom end and comes out of the tunnel due to slope. Now if i insert, lets say 8 balls in that tunnel one behind the other, so the balls will come out one after the other due to slope. Now if i want to stop the balls from coming out, i need to use some door or shutter type of thing, that can be opened or closed as required. When it is closed, no more balls should be able to drop and when it is opened, the balls start dropping one after the other. I want to control that shutter through a motor, and this motor will be connected to my PIC. That is i want to run this motor through programming in order to make the shutter on and off when required. I want to ask you that what should be the best mechanism that can be employeed for this purpose? Thanks in advance! Take cares Good Bye!
  18. Hi guys! well! im using a 3A dual High Speed Power Mosfet driver named as TC4424 in a circuit of H-bridge to control a DC motor. Now as i have written it can only support a peak current of 3A. I want to run a motor whose peak current is greater than 3 A but less than 5A. What should be the replacement of this Driver TC4424 for this purpose. I mean to say that i want a Dual High speed POwer Mosfet Driver whose current rating is higher than 3A. I shall be thankful to u for this act of kindness. Take carez
  19. Hi Guys! well! i have made the following H-bridge which is made up of BJTs. Im providing it with the PWM through my PIC. The problem that im facing here is this that my DC motor is just not running with this circuit. The PIC seems to be working fine but there is no motion in the motor. When i connect motor to the battery directly, it runs fine but now since i want to control it thru PWM, its not responding. I have tried to find out but couldnt find the problem out. Is there any technical problem in the following circuit of BJT??? Now below u will find three different circuits of H-Bridge. What do u think the best would be to use. I have a 24VDC motor(simple DC Motor). If you would like to recommend me the MOSFET one then please tell me what MOSFETs should i use here. I think one should be IRF530 or IRF540 but what should be the other one? Secondly, dont u think that the IC H-bridge would be the best one. Thirdly, i want to give u this info that im supplying the circuit with around 17 volts DC supply. So please keep this thing in mind. Your early reply shall be highly appreciated. Regards Take carez Good Bye! This is the BJT one (the one im using)
  20. Hi guys! well me, in a robot thinking of using an infra red LED and a detector to track a line made up of a white reflector tape often used in cars. someone just told me that the infra red gets absorbed in a white surface and cannot get reflected. Is it true? if yes then what idea should i use? Thanks in advance! take carez
  21. fasieh is asking for 5th edition solution manual while the ones whiche were posted belonge to 6th edition. ::)
  22. HI Guys! well! i have read somewhere that the waves generated by a primary radar adversley affect the electronic components of the vehicles that travel in the vicinty of the airport. To immunize these effects, TWT amplifiers and Class C amplifiers are used. I want to ask you two questions here: 1) how these rays affect the electronics components of the vehicles? 2) how class C amplifiers and TWT amplifiers can proved to be a great source of immunization against these rays. And where this immunization is used? in the radars or in the vehicles? Any external links will be highly appreciated Thanks in advance. Take carez
  23. to staigen! Thanks a lot! i would be waiting for ur Schematic. thanks a lot once again @awright Thanks a lot Mr. Awright! You have really cleared things to me about the regulator. and you are right that English is not my primary Language. Actually I know grammar very well but perhaps i have spoiled my grammar in making you understand what im asking to make it clear to u as much as possible. I will try my level best not to repeat it again. Take carez Good Bye
  24. Hi guys! well! i have a 12VDC 5Ah battery. I want to operate a no of components from it. Now someone in this forum suggested me to use a LM317 regulator. IM posting a schematic that i got from LM317 datasheet. SHould i use this schematic for the regulator that i want to connect before my PIC. LM317 can provide a max output current of 1.5A. I want to ask u people one thing here. Look at the circuit below. THis circuit is going to give 5V at the output. But what current it will give at the output. Will this output current depend upon the load. I mean will this current be drawn at the output as much only as the load demands but within 1.5 A? heres im making a mistake my dear friends. Just like a battery which has 12VDC and 5Ah of current rating. WHat this 5Ah means? does this mean that the motor can supply a max of 5A at 1 hour continously. You can even draw 6 or 7A from this battery but the time of supplying will get reduced? isnt like that? Then what about the regulator output? It supplies to me a voltage of 5V but what current it is giving me to my load. Is it supplying all the time 1.5A? or the current will be drawn by the load automatically according to its need? PIC requires a current of about 100mA so a regulator like LM317 will provide it 1.5A or 100mA? here is the schematic i was talking abt:
