ok i need some help .... i need to know:

inorder to get 3 ohms with 22gauge wire...how many feet of it do i need?

help is greatly appreaciated!!! incase you are curious its for a tattoo machine coils.... a very interesting Electronic device... ya'll should fool around with em sometime:)... thx again!!

Or if you need 3 ohms, then use a liltle more than 1/2 foot of AWG47 wire (if you can see it), but it won't carry much current nor be a good inductor.
Coils are rated in current (size of wire) and inductance (number of turns of wire around a magnetic core).
So if you are making a coil, then be certain of its maximum current and inductance, not just its DC resistance.
