no diference in current, we talking about diferences in conduction mechanism.
If carriers are in thermic equilibrum with the cristaline network the main difference (from electical conduction point of view) between electrons and gaps is the mobility of their movement throgh the cristal.

hi kevin!
there is no difference b/w the current .Say 5mA is only 5mA irrespective from where it comes.it is simply 5milli Coulumbs/sec.
Although the mechanism in which conductors and insulators(not perfect insulators ofcourse) conduct.The charge carriers those who are in majority may also be differing in some concentration.
Current is a Current!
