audioguru
Hi Herman,Why don't you try the car with alkaline or rechargeable batteries first, to determine its power requirement. Then you may find that solar cells to power such a heavy car will be too big and expensive.
ante
Herman,How strong is the sun where you live? How fast do you want the car to go? What is the spec for the motors?
audioguru
Hi Ante,Do you think that Herman wants to break a speed record (speed of sound?) and will need only a couple of hundred Watts?

MP
Hermantajay,Low inertia type motors are usually used in the toy solar car projects. I usually see the 1.5V motors with 3 or 4 small solar cells to power them. There are lots of hobbyists making them and you should be able to find a lot of information in a search on the web. Here is a company which sells the parts. Perhaps the specifications here will help.http://www.pluggingintothesun.org.uk/motorspec.htmhttp://www.pluggingintothesun.org.uk/cell.htmhttp://www.pluggingintothesun.org.uk/car.htmMP
