Guest Kasamiko
I'm building this circuit and found out that the P-Channel FET used in the circuit is not available in my place. Can anyone suggest a good substitute, a bipolar transistors maybe or a chips?bizar_3in1.pdf
Lou
HiI'm afraid a P-channel JFet is essential in this circuit: a JFet is a depletion device, conducting in the absence of any control voltage and I see no other device capable of that (except a P channel depletion MOS, which is even harder to find). Using another method would require an in-depth redesign of the circuit. A 2N3820 might be suitable despite its higher resistance, and is probably easier to find than the original types. Maybe you could try...Good luck
ante
Rhonn,You can safely replace the MPF970 with 2N3993 or 2N5114.
Guest Kasamiko
P-Channel FET was DOOMED in my country!!!Electronics store don't even knew they existed!!I'm losed now!! :'( :'( :'(rhonn ;) ;)
ante
Hi Rhonn,What do you mean doomed? Maybe you have to make a small change to have the circuit work with some ordinary transistors?
surajbarkale
I figured that the JFET only shorts out MBus & Fbus Tx pins. I daresay you could replace it with 74HCT4066 quad analog switch or if you can find it (or sample it ;D) SN74AUC1G66 (Single Bilateral Analog Switch) from TI.
