Electronic workbench type thing!

Hi,

I'm doing a college course in Electronics and have a project to design and build an infra red switch for mains voltage.

At college we use Electronics Workbench to help design and test out circuits but I can't get a copy for home use.

I see there are, what sound like, similar programs on the downloads pages here.

Has anyone any recommendations from these?

I will only be using it for simple analogue circuits and it's really to test out ideas at home before committing to building them at college.

Thanks,

John

Hi Johnc,

The only solution of your problem that I can think is to purchase the electronics workbench StudentSuite7 (multisim and multiboard) . It is designed for students and has many limitations like only 100 components. Although the price is quite expensive for students(about 80$).
An other option is to use your department's laboratory that already has the electronics workbench and do all your homework there if it is allowed by your university department.
As far as I know there is no free edition for trial from electronics workbench.

Yours Sincerely,
Lucas.

Electronic Workbench looks cool 8), but I'm an old biker fart, not a student. What would you suggest for a program thats not quite as deluxe. Schematic and circuit simulation with a good library of logic analog chips and Discreet components?

Oh... should be cheep!!!

First post so be gental. ;D
