EAGLE. Is it a good choice?

I didn't use any schematic or layout program. Some of my friends on internet advice EAGLE. Do you think it is a good choice?

P.S. : I have started to learn EAGLE and I don't have any problems.

And I heard all manufacturers use BoardMaker in my city. Is there any way to convert EAGLE layout format to BoardMaker format? Or Do all programs use same formats?

Thanks for your help...

Usually, the board manufacturer will use what is called a GERBER file to make the boards. Because of this, you do not need to convert between the different programs. This is the main reason why you do not see conversion programs for the different PC Board programs. The GERBER files are the common files. You would also include a drill file so that they can drill the board. Most all board layout programs will produce these files. Some manufacturers use other protocols, but they are not the norm.
