The information you require can be found in
Tom's Guides here: http://www.tomshardware.com/
Or at :
http://www.anandtech.com/

If you know the name and # of your motherboard you can find descriptions and pictures on the manufacturers homepage.

The difference b/w an ISA slot and a PCI slot is that ISA slots are 16 bit and PCI slots are 32 bit. ISA slots are used in old computers thay are long usually black coloured but you should know that ISA slots are no longer manufactured. For more info try to search in google or sth.

I should warn against using color of the connector to determine the type of buss. I have seen and purchased these connectors in different colors in the past. There are other obvious differences in the buss connection. You cannot insert a card into the wrong buss. You should look at the characteristics of the connector to see the differences.

ISA is no longer commonly available in nowadays motherboard.... except some industrial mini size controller board

and do not "visually" distinguish the bus .......... get yourself a manual of the motherboard..... it will clearly state what are these!
