a tabe recorder which works on 120vac has been connected to 220vac when i checked it just the fuse was blown and the transformer was ok.but when i changed the fuse its on standby and do not be on  plz tell me where should i check. in wut may be the problem?

Lot's of the semiconducters and electrolytic capacitors will have been completely destroyed. I have a feeling this tape recorder will be un-repairable I'm afraid, was it expensive?

If the answer is no it's probably far cheaper to buy a new one.

By the way you can buy small transformers to run low power 120V equipment from 240V and vice-versa.
