Hi,

I'm new to this forum and my request may seem trivial. I am looking for a schematic for an Automatic LED Nite Lite made by Amertac. Does anyone have any idea where I could get that?

Thanks,

Ed

Hey Wizard,

Thanks lot for the schematics. The problem is that I have about 10 of these nite lights that need to be fixed. That's why I am trying to find the original schematic.

Hi Ed,

What’s wrong with these gizmos, they can’t be very complicated can they?

Maybe you can post a close up picture and someone might have an idea for you.

You will probably find the triac blown. They use cheap triacs to meet the cheap product's price, and for small size.

An incandescent lightbulb draws 10 times more current when cool than its very high temperature operating current, and a very high current when the filiament burns out or breaks and it arcs.
The triacs that are used are not designed for such high currents, but some are lucky and survive somehow. If you use a more powerful triac (if it fits in there) it should last forever. ;D
