audioguru
Hi Jess,Welcome to our forum. ;DTo convert from milli-ohms to voltage, put a known current through the resistance and measure its voltage drop with a voltmeter. That's what an ohm-meter does.Since the voltage will be small, it can be amplified with an opamp.
prateeksikka
hi there!i guess audioguru's answer is 100% correct.but milliohms?where do u come across such low value resistance?audioguru,i have seen commercially available resistance minimum of 1 ohm.what about u? ;D
Guest Alun
Lots of places, switch contacts, connecting wires and power MOSFET channels are just a few examples.
audioguru
Resistors with a value of 0.1 ohms, 0.22 and 0.33 ohms are commonly used as emitter resistors for the power output transistors in audio amplifiers.
Guest Alun
Oh, sorry for not mentioning low value resistors, they are also used as current sense resistors in various applications such as high constant current sources and over current protection in amplifiers and voltage regulators. prateeksikka
right there the path from milli to Megas!i have however seen from 1 ohm to say 10 mega ohms thats it thanks for the info guys! ;D ;D ;D
jesswan
hye, thank you .everybody .. well im doing this project thats using Pt100 and Pt1000. so the value is ohms.. i need to convert in voltage. so how i have already built the circuit.... thanks a bunch.... heathtech
...well im doing this project thats using Pt100 and Pt1000Are you referring to 100 ohm platinum RTD temperature probes when you mention Pt100? If, so, what is the project? I know a few things about temperature control circuits and might be able to help.
