Does amprege matter in electronics?

Hi. If I lost a plug pack for a video camera but had another plugpack with the same voltage but different amprege (higher amprege), would it damage the components or does the camera use only what it needs?
I know with AC a motor if pluged in a 15amp socket will only use what it needs, like 4 or 5 amps, but is it different with DC electronic components?

As long as the appliance is rated for a lower or equal current  than the supply all will be well, the only thing you have to watch out for is some supplies a regulated and some aren't if a a device requires a regulated supply and you connect it to an unregulated one the device could be damaged but it'll be alright if theis situation is reversed.
