audioguru
You can buy a cheap low-spec LM317 or a premium best-spec LM117.Most ICs have an A-suffix premium best-spec version for sale. They are the same except the testing picks-out the best ones.I wonder about how they sort the TL07x or TL08x opamps. Their only difference is that the TL07x is spec'd and tested for low noise. What if the entire batch was low-noise but they had a big order for the TL08x? Wouldn't they also be low-noise?Since the TL07x is low-noise, is it also better at anything else?Maybe a TL08x is a "defective" TL07x. ;D
Guest Alun
Sorry I can't see any differance, can you?TL07xTL08x
audioguru
Sorry I can't see any difference, can you?Nope. Not anymore. If there was a difference then they scrapped the original TL08x design and are making them all with the improved TL07x design now. They have exactly the same price at Digikey. tikbalang
Hi Gogo,Protection diodes are needed if the output or ADJ terminal has a big capacitor and if the output voltage was higher and if the input or output are suddenly shorted. They aren't needed in this circuit.how can protection diodes be applied for constant current circuits like this?
audioguru
A constant current source is supposed to have a high output impedance .Yours has a honking huge output capacitor so has a low output impedance.Nothing bad happens if the output is shorted and it is unlikely that the input will get shorted.
