Mucha
I have just finished making a +&-1.2 -11V power supply and i am having problems connecting my analogue ameter as i calculated the value of the shunt resistor it came to about 0.0492Ohms what other means can i make this work
indulis
What are you trying to measure?? If you have an ammeter, why do need a shunt?
ante
Hi Mucha,Welcome to our forum.I would use a power resistor as a shunt; one example here:http://www.elfa.se/elfa-bin/setpage.pl?http://www.elfa.se/elfa-bin/dyndok.pl?lang=en&dok=9320.htmThe resistor item number 60-619-07 is 0.05 Ohms and will work fine as a shunt. If you like to “fine-tune” the value you can parallel it with a standard resistor but I don’t think it’s necessary.
