seabran
I would like to use the 7 segment LED counter circuit to count pulses from a shaft of a motor. Can the counter count both up and down? Is there a pin on the BCD counter that tells it to count up or down? Also how would I be able to detect which way the motor is turning? Thanks,Seabran

audioguru
The CD4040 IC is a binary ripple counter, not a shift register.
