MSPS, kSPS ADC help

I'm new to ADC chips and I wold like to know if 1000kSPS means that I can convert an analog voltage in 1uS.

I know this must sound like a stupid question but it would be good to know that I'm thinking along the right lines.

Hi Adam,

the short answer is a qualified yes.  1000kSPS = 1MSPS = 1 million samples per second thus 1 sample per microsecond.  Have a look at some ADC datasheets (Maxim, Analog Devices and others) to get some more detail.
