Repairing circuit board

Firstly, appologies if this is in the wrong board, but I was hoping someone could advise me:

I have an electrical item, only a simple/ small thing, and after unscrewing the cover, after hearing a 'rattle' i see that a small corner of the circuit board has broken off.

Unfortunately its proving difficult to replace the item in qurstion, so my question is, would it be possible to repair the said fault, or is it beyond repair?

instead of doind all that why dont you just run
jumper wires to whatever part of the circuit it was
hooked up to.  In other words where it was broken
off just take the wires and solder them into the traces
where they were connected or find a junction point and
solder it there.
