bostamy
I am working on a project where i need to ignite propane gas. I am trying to come up with a circuit that will produce a tiny spark across two wires. I want the circuit to be powered by a small battery (AAA,AA,9V) and as small as possible...any suggestions? ante
Hi,Small is relative, what do you consider small? Would an ignition coil from a motorcycle and four D-cells with a switch be small? ;)

prateeksikka
hi audioguru!what is the principle behind these spark generators?high voltage electrodes brought close?as in a welding system or something else?
bostamy
i am looking for something pretty small (the total size of the circuit might be about the size of a D cell (excluding battery). I once saw a gas grill ignitor that ran off a single AA battery but never got the chance to take it apart to see how it worked. I imagine it has some kinda of DC to AC converter which it then passed through a transformer. Any suggestions?
