audioguru Posted April 25, 2006 Report Share Posted April 25, 2006 An ordinary silicon diode, rectifier or transistor's junction is an NTC thermistor. Its forward voltage changes about 3mV for each degree C rise in temperature. It can be amplified and level-shifted to any value you want. audioguru Posted April 25, 2006 Report Share Posted April 25, 2006 Hi Virus,If anybody designed a circuit to emulate a thermistor, the circuit would be complicated and maybe way overdesigned since we don't know if it operates with AC or DC and we don't know how much voltage and current is required.It is nearly impossible to add parts to a circuit without seeing the circuit. audioguru Posted April 26, 2006 Report Share Posted April 26, 2006 A PNP transistor in series with the lowest resistance you need can replace the thermistor. A resistor in series with the base of the transistor limits the base current and a modulating voltage applied to the resistor controls how much it conducts.Your sketch is confusing with the power supply +12V also as the 0V to +12V.
