Guest Tkjas Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Hi,I want to know how to program Music ICs.And how to u start this? Thanks! Quote
audioguru Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 What is a music IC?Give us a part number or a datasheet. Its datasheet will say how to program it. Quote
Guest Tkjas Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 I mean like any music IC, I thought that u can use a ucontroller as a music ICI don't have any idea about Music ICs except that they are used in birthday cards, toys, and some door bill. They store music.Could anyone help me get started? :)-Tkjas Quote
audioguru Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 You cannot reprogram the music of a cheap IC on a birthday card or toy. It is made with the music on it.There are some ICs available somewhere that you can record a few seconds of sounds.A ucontroller could be programmed to use its memory to record some sounds. Quote
Guest Tkjas Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Hi Audioguru,I'm not talking about reprogramming them.I just want to know how do the companies make the music ICs. Do they program the ICs, or.......?I also heard that u can program a melody into a IC?How can I get started? Thanks Quote
audioguru Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Look at Melody IC in Google. There are some with songs in them or with tones that you can play. There are some that you can use to record sounds. They are simple and cheap so the quality of the sound is poor. Quote
Shahriar Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Look for ISD25XX Series. i.e. ISD2560 with 60second storage or ISD25120 with 120s.They have all things you need. i.e. Amplifer, Address Pins, ... You just connect a Mic.BTW, as I understood, the storage for all Ics are the same, the difference between 120s with 60s is in ADC Sample rate. In fact the quality of ISD120 is lower than ISD60.HTH - Shahriar Quote
Guest Tkjas Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Record sounds, mic?In birthday cards, and others, the sounds are pure, solid tones, and the quality's not bad. ???I usually see those chips with the black case melted over them in birthday cards. Also, I think that I might have confused everyone when I wrote IC. I really meant like chips. They could be ICs,microcontrollers, etc Quote
MP Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Tkjas, you posted in the wrong area. You should have asked this question in the microcontroller area where programmers would have given you an answer. Here is a link that will help:http://www.embedded.com/story/OEG20010221S0034Best of luck!MP Quote
Shahriar Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Just tak a look at Datasheet, You will find what you need there. A mic is not always needed.Shahriar Quote
Guest Tkjas Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Thanks everyone!!!BTW, does MP stand for Master Programmer, or Microcontroller Programmer? ;D Quote
MP Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Thanks everyone!!!BTW, does MP stand for Master Programmer, or Microcontroller Programmer? ;DNo, it does not. But I AM a programmer.... ;DGood luck with your project!MP Quote
Benedikt22 Posted September 10, 2021 Report Posted September 10, 2021 you don't need this program. I have a better advice for you. Contact them http://www.majormixing.com/. They will do everything for you. They have professional audio studio and qualified workers. So you won't have to make music yourself because it is much easier and better if they do it. Also if you visit their website you can read reviews about them. You are wellcome Quote
bidrohini Posted February 10, 2023 Report Posted February 10, 2023 Music ICs like UM66 are avaiable. However, you cannot customize them. UM66 can play only the music that is already set by the manufacturer. If you want to play something of your own choice, I think you can move to Arduino related projects. Using waveshare VS1053B music shield. https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/Music_Shield Here is another music playing PCB based on Arduino Nano that you may like to see: https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/Musical_Christmas_Reindeer_0cf8bc23.html Quote
