optoisolator

hi, i'm new member here.recently i have a research on optoisolator, for my project. i'm not sure what is different between moc3041 and moc3040, isn;t both of them act as some function. cos i wan use it to isolated the voltage use ofr 240AV motor.
could someone pls tell me about that, thanks.

Unless the motor is extremely small the MOC 3041 (or MOC 3040) will be toast immediately!

well, my ac motor's size was medium.i've read some articles on internet, MOC3041,3042 adn 3043 can be use for my project. i'm not too sure about the moc3040.

None of these can run a motor if not supported by some kind of power device i.e. triac, thyristor or relay.
Please post the circuit so we can se what this is all about.
