Herman the German Posted April 4, 2011 Report Share Posted April 4, 2011 Hi Novice1,the type of diode used depends largely on the solenoid.The more current the solenoid pulls the higher the EMF pulse.For solenoids in the order of a miniature relay a 1N4148 will suffice. Hero999 Posted April 4, 2011 Report Share Posted April 4, 2011 How much current does the solenoid need?What's the current rating of the push button switch?You might be able to omit the MOSFET and drive the solenoid directly from the switch.
