Steelrat
Hello,I have a 11 year old son with severe global devlopment issues due to his epilpesy. It is a challenge to get his attention to warn him of risks like stairs, tripping hazards, and also when we need him to look at us to give him instructions. I am thinking if I could build a device that vibrated like a pager or cell phone that is activated by a fob, or remote device. I could teach him to stop and look at us when he feels the vibration. I have seen devices for the deaf and blind, but they are hooked up to identify when a phone rings, lights are on, or a door bell rings. The device could be like pager or a small wrist device like a watch. The remote would be carried by the parent or care giver.I do not have an electronics background, so not sure where to start on this.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Shaun[email protected]
blueroomelectronics
Sounds like a pager would do the trick. Long range, low fees, vibrate.
Hero999
A wireless doorbell? Is he deaf or is it just that he can't understand you?If he can't hear then you could add a motor with a weight on the shaft to the wireless doorbell to make it vibrate as well as chime.
