Hi guys

I'm in the early stages of looking into the ins and outs of potentially a portable mobile phone charger. I was intending to make the portable charging pack rechargable by using lithium-ion cells possibly CGP345010. Going on this information does anyone anticipate any issue with the idea?
Cheers.

For a project I was going to have a look at building a portable mobile phone charging kit to take to festivals. I was thinking along the lines of charging it from the mains before i go i.e. like you would do with a laptop then use the charger to charge my mobile phone via a USB cable. Within the charger I had been looking at 4 lithium ion cells. I appreciate there are similar things on the market already, thoughts?

Oh so basically you're looking at building a battery powered 5V PSU with USB sockets?

If would work of course but why use lithium ion cells?

If go for 4 NiMH C sized cells which have a similar energy density but are safer and have the added advantage of being able to be charged by a standard NiMH charger.
