I want to make some basic simulations regarding current leads.The current lead is made of a cylinderical copper wire with 10 cm diameter and 50 cm length.From side I have a current supplier which gives me 200 A. It's at a temprature of 300 kelvinFrom the other side I have a refrigerator cool head that brings me to 70 kelvin with 40 watts.I want to build a simulation and see how much loss do I get due to the resistivity and heat transfer (both).Is there a way to simulate it? Hero999 Posted June 1, 2014 Report Share Posted June 1, 2014 The resistance of the copper wire can be calculated using the formulae in the Wikipedia article linked below:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_resistivity_and_conductivity The power dissipation can then be calculated using Ohm's law.
