Microcontroller for my Project

i'm a newbie in using microcontrollers. i don't know what kind of mcu should i use. i'm a little bit confuse if gagamitin ko ba is Gizduino X ... since medyo nagbasa basa aq ng ilang infos about it. Yung project/thesis ko ksi is "Smart Pill Dispenser". any suggestions/comments would be highly appreciated. salamat po.

Hello, i nede help with a led matrix i am bilding for my son runing from a atmega 32 and a BC818 tranzistor  have the schematic from

in the schematic ther is no resistor values from BC818 pin to led ANODE I m afraid that i whil burn the atmel 32
