Ernie the Eskimo
I am having difficulty finding out if a digital microscope, like the MUSTOOL G1200 reviewed on this site in September, can be used for welding. The welder is a micro TIG welder used for momentary spot welding of jewellery parts. Would the flash damage the CMOS or any other part? I am working on the assumption that if the microscope camera will not be damaged, the amount of light given off by the screen cannot be enough to harm eyes, ergo it would be safe. Thanks
admin
How much intense is the flash of welding process ? Can you show us a video here?
Ernie the Eskimo
Well that's my question really, can I video a welding arc without damaging the camera? Here's a link to a you tube video. If this was fine with a digital video camera that about answers my question, but I have no way of knowing. https://youtu.be/D-CS2O3-odE
admin
As per my point of view, you will not have any issue as these are short pulses of light that can't increase the temperature of the CMOS sensor from a distance. So i think you are on the safe side.
