Low voltage indicator lamp of 110vac circuit

Sorry, you would think english was greek to me... I cannot add a float switch, the well is 40' deep and the well cap is 6' ft below ground, buried. I don't mind running cable, but do not want to run 110vac, If i get a solid state relay I can trigger with 12vdc then the cables and additional...

Low voltage indicator lamp of 110vac circuit

The switch is 20 feet from the basement pump upstairs. The pressure switch is unpredictable due to the sediment build up. Sometimes the pump will run for many minutes with no water flowing and the motor gets hot. trying to prevent failure. We live where having water in the well during the...

Low voltage indicator lamp of 110vac circuit

The pump is in my basement and the well is 60' away underground from the pump. A float switch is not possible (have to dig up well cover below ground) we have sand in our well and it eventually eats holes through the piping so I wish to be reminded that the power to the pump is live and to shut...

Low voltage indicator lamp of 110vac circuit

Yes bluejets is correct, (I no longer have my dialup ISP, I was his last client) so I take a day or two to reply. I was hoping not to have to run additional wiring to the remote switch for the lamp. my simplest idea was to connect a wall wart to the pump connections and run the low voltage...

Low voltage indicator lamp of 110vac circuit

This is a bit weird I have a 110vac switch to turn on and off a well water supply pump. it breaks the "hot" side before feeding the pressure power switch. is there a way to have an indicator lamp (led or incandescent) using the "earth/box ground"? I need to indicate the the pump potentially...

    Good rosin flux paste brands?

+1 also a bonus tip........ I use the tiny bit of paste to "tin" wires by dipping in the paste and heating one of many large globs of "real" solder found on old circuit boards and then rolling the wire. If doing many wires for rough projects it helps save the precious new solder ($$$)

Need help Converting a variable Speed 12v drill to corded drill - 3rd wire?

I am the master of disaster when it comes to corded cordless tools. I have converted many to muscle build versions by adding UPS 12 v 7ah SLA batteries. as stated some drills had a 2 speed motor by using a center tap of the battery. (craftsman 7.2v drill) I was learning and accidentally...

    Dialup issues

I visit often but due to my dial-up hell connection i cannot post replies. I have been told by almost every website that dial-up is for losers. I was able to post here years ago but something changed (not on my end) What ever happened to plain HTML boards? Oh they went the way of dial-up. (this...

How does this cable connect exactly?

2 cents, the Chinese masters of cheap have decided that most cheap ear buds headset have 2 strands of wire in a sheath both coated with some insulating film, colour denoting polarity. I just take a knife and scrape the coating then solder, but use real solder, (not the new environmentally...

    auto resetting timer 110v a/c

Well said. I did see an ebay unit but cannot find it again (cleared history) The well pump is a component in the rain water backup well fed in home reservoir in a recent drought area.

    auto resetting timer 110v a/c

Thanks, but it needs to reset itself if the max time is not reached each time the pump runs.

    auto resetting timer 110v a/c

Looking for recommendations for an off the shelf programmable auto resetting timer for an appliance. eg. set for 10 minutes, once the well pump starts it will run for a max of 10 minutes and then be turned off. If the pump turns itself off before the preset time the timer resets to allow another...

Wind powered generator using radiator fan?

Depending on your year/make/model, most older pre 2000 fans are permanent magnet. Radiator cooling fan, heater blower motor, wiper motor and (newer) starter motors. The motor you describe sound more like an automotive "alternator". It requires an energy source(12 v ) battery to energise the...
